What they don’t tell you

Located in a magnificent fortress, the views are breathtaking, and the atmosphere is uniquely charming. The room was clean, and the breakfast was excellent. Yet, signs to the hotel are scarce, creating confusion. The Wi-Fi was hit or miss, and parking was a trek from the hotel. Definitely a place to experience, but be prepared!

The hotel's unique location in an old fortress offered stunning views, while the restored room with modern comforts truly impressed me. However, the lack of staff presence during our arrival was quite frustrating.

Staying in a Superior Room offered a unique experience in a historic barracks with breathtaking views. The room was spotlessly clean and spacious, providing excellent facilities for families. Dining on delicious Thai dishes in the resort was a highlight, with friendly staff enhancing the overall experience. However, some areas were still undergoing conversion, and there were minor logistical hiccups during the stay.

Everything met my expectations.

The Deluxe Room was cozy with true wooden floors, giving it a nice authentic feel. The bed was super comfortable, and I loved the high-quality amenities. It felt spacious and inviting, perfect for relaxing after a day out. The only tricky part was the unclear signs to find my room, which made things a bit confusing at first.

I loved staying at this unique spot. The rooms are huge and warm, with epic views of the valley. The staff was super friendly and really made us feel at home. Dinner in the restaurant was tasty. The only bummer was a bit of a walk from the parking lot, especially with bags.

The superior room was spacious with a comfy bed, private bathroom, nice views of the valley, and unique decor. I loved the adjustable heating, quality toiletries like shampoo and conditioner, and the flat-screen TV. The historical atmosphere added charm, and breakfast had various fresh baked goods and juices.

This was a decent match for a quick stopover in Kongsvinger with good value for money. The suite we had was nice, though the lighting was overly complicated. Make sure to ask for directions to avoid confusion on arrival.

the location of castle hotel & resort is fantastic, right in the historical fortress on a hill with stunning views of the glomma valley. the superior room was beautifully restored, combining modern comfort with the fortress's charm. i really liked the original bathroom design and the adjustable lighting, making for a cozy atmosphere.
